as an incentive to the rest of you I include a few examples of my own efforts, they may not be award-winning but they dont have to be. They were written with emotion and they mean a lot to me. Hope is the guiding star between the nations,

the only true substance of mans creations

Shrouded in shadow,

Overlayed by fear,

Always hidden,

But always near.

The irritating scheme of things

is what no person loves,

yet the fear-abating theme it brings,

the symbol of the dove.

The earth shook and comets fell

the world, it was split in two!

and across the sky, in blazing fire

was a message

'I love you'

I once have loved

and I once have lost,

and I once have felt the winters frost,

you will survive, they say

you will live to love another day,

but all I know is,

when you smile in my eye I feel a dart

and your name is blazed across my heart.

I see a familiar nightmare,

It falls across my face

The shadow of its wing proceeds me,

Whilst I'm in the chase

Negativity arrives,

I'm sure you know the truth,

For of all the judges,

There is one without ruth,

God and his angels,

Could stand on thrones a thousand pillars high,

Yet its the judgement of thy own self,

That lets the hearts love die

Several million times a day,

I felt my love being given away,

now what do you do,

when a thing like that, happens, to you?

do you run, or hide, curl up or die inside?

because love, should not be taken,

for love, it should be given

for love, is the greatest gift that you can give.
